The Classics on BookShop

What We’re Reading: Love in the Time of Cholera

I’ve been catching up on a lot of classic novels this summer – books and authors that I feel I should have read a long time ago but haven’t gotten around to yet. I decided I should post what I’m reading here on the Book Shop blog so you can read along with me if you’d like! I just started Love in the Time of Cholera.

Gabriel García Márquez is widely considered to be one of the most notable authors of the 20th century. Though he started his career as a journalist and nonfiction writer, he is best known for several acclaimed novels and for popularizing the literary style known as magical realism.

This is my first time reading anything by Márquez. Have you read any of his novels, and if so, what did you think? You can let me know in the comments below, on the Book Shop Facebook page, or stop in at the store.

If you’re interested in reading Love in the Time of Cholera, we have two copies available currently ($7.45 and $8.00).

Also in stock today are:
Of Love and Other Demons ($6.95)
One Hundred Years of Solitude ($7.00).
